Former Victorian School: Living room. Oxfordshire
Pay attention at the back.
We certainly did our homework to make this beautiful building come to life.
On our first visit to the imposing Grade II listed former School House, our team realised it was a huge job.
We were faced with taking it right back to its bare bones and starting from scratch.
This project involved extensive refurbishment, including the creation of a stunning bespoke Orangery to make the most of the beautiful vista and natural daylight.
Our client insisted this should be a place to entertain, and that’s exactly what we delivered.
We integrated the main area of the home, with the ethos that this was a place to share.
A celebration of classic, shaking hands with contemporary.
A bold colour palette combining turquoise and gold (often overlooked by the less daring), conveyed a strong, graphic punch to the three Howard upholstered sofas.
Brushed gold, brass and copper were chosen for their ability to add dramatic touches of finesse that would never look overworked.
Striking burnished gold wall lights with putty silk shades majestically nestled above each side of the inglenook fireplace.
Accents of plum, chocolate and green also feature, but the eye is given plenty of chance to rest with neutral tones on many of the walls. No magnolia here. We don’t do magnolia. Not in a million years.
There’s piped detailing, luxurious velvet, and a beautifully soft silk rug to add a luxurious comfort underfoot, anchoring the seating arrangement perfectly.
This was a big room, and it needed a statement piece to bring the room together.
Say hello to The Miro Elliptical console.
Elegant and incredibly complex, the long floating top is perfectly proportioned to the base and creates an interesting tension with the supporting metalwork. Simply, wow!
Every detail was considered for our client, right down to the bespoke storage units, fitted with a SONOS sound system to house the client’s vast music collection.
Each piece combined timeless elegance with attention to detail, and had been made to the very highest standard to ensure unrivalled comfort and longevity.
The stunning bespoke orangery allowed sunlight to flood into the home, as well as visually connecting the interior to the outer terrace, where the family hosts parties during the balmy summer months.
Our clients were delighted with the finished results.
So much so, they gave us a gold star.
