A snug ‘Gentleman’s Club’ feel. Oxfordshire.
One very definite part of the brief from the client was ‘no chrome’.
We were on the same wavelength.
All natural materials was the way forward.
But the main challenge for us on this project, were the walls.
There wasn’t a straight one to be seen, so this room became something of a shrine to bespoke joinery.
Oak cabinetry, bookcases and paneling surrounding the cotswold stone clad fireplace all finished to a remarkable standard by our craftsmen, created a wonderful warmth and richness that oozes timeless quality.
We introduced discreet recessed ceiling spots, and to highlight the features and emphasise the library collection, we installed ambient LED lighting within the bespoke cabinetry.
Bronze sculpture lamps, muted palettes of greens and neutrals, chairs and footstalls in classical tweed wool fabrics, and cashmere throws also played their part to create an intimate, and luxurious bohemian ‘gentleman’s club’ feel.
